Let Me Teach For You!

Take one thing off your plate.

Sit back and relax as I lead your children in music appreciation lessons that will engage, delight, and leave them wanting more.

A SQUILT LIVE! membership is the perfect way for children to gain a little independence and for parents to know they are learning music from an EXPERT who has a passion for providing families with a quality music education.

"SQUILT LIVE! has become such a fun anchor to our week! It is a blessing! I only wish I could get something like laundry done during your lesson however I can't help but join my kids to watch and listen too.

A rich packet of information along with your kind guidance keeps us focused, and well, the music plays for itself. We love everything about SQUILT!"

~ Kimberly, SQUILT LIVE! parent

Singing is beautiful and so much fun. In June we will learn what a folk song is, the characteristics of a folk song, and also listen to and sing a plethora of folk songs!

In July we will  learn about the different types of voice, choral singing, barbershop groups, and other vocal ensembles.

To round out the summer in August we will listen to songs from around the world.

Your Teacher:

Mary holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Southern Methodist University and a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and Supervision from Georgia State University. She taught music in the public schools in Texas and Georgia for 10 years before beginning her career as a homeschooling mother.

During this time she began to develop the SQUILT Music Appreciation curriculum, all the while teaching piano lessons, music co-op classes, and more.  It is her heart's greatest desire to share her love of music with children. SQUILT LIVE! is the culmination of years of sharing the SQUILT method with literally thousands of children.

Her favorite composer is Aaron Copland and her favorite instrument is the pipe organ. Music is so much more than Beethoven, Bach, & Mozart (although we learn about them, too) and she wants to bring your children that wonderful variety.

She enjoys playing piano and directs the Cherub Choir at her church. When she's not working on SQUILT you will find her spending time with her family or curled up somewhere reading a good book!

"Truly, Mary, you are so gifted and we enjoy your lessons so much. You provide an amazing place to appreciate and learn a wide variety of music, a break from our busy day and an opportunity for me to model being a 'teachable student' to my little one......I enjoy this class as much as she does! For about an hour after each class we dive a little deeper.

I wish you many more joy-filled years of this outreach as you are truly making a difference!"

~ Margot - SQUILT LIVE! parent

"I wanted to to thank you SO much for everything you have given us this year.

We joined you in June and have learned so much - we never miss a lesson! The listening calendars are a highlight in our day. We always listen around the breakfast table and we have a growing list of our favourite pieces of music (Beethoven’s 7th and Dudamel’s Conga del Fuego are high up there!). Our daughter has asked Santa for a violin and our son will start Ukelele lessons in January and I credit all of this to your passion and knowledge, which inspires and informs."

~ Lisa - SQUILT LIVE! parent
