My sons are really enjoying the listening calendars.
My girls and I have enjoyed having this added to our day. We listen during lunch when it's easiest to have two little girls sit quietly. We recently added a fun emotions activity. I printed out a sheet of about 15 emotions, talked about each one, and then had them circle emotions they feel throughout the song.
At such an early stage of homeschooling we enjoy the flexibility of the listening calendar. No schedule needed, it's just a fun way to find new music and learn to appreciate the musical variety of the world!
This lesson has a great variety of music that I never would have thought to show my kid. Good job!
We are using the listening calendar in our Morning Time for school. I actually bought a book that has a piece to listening every day of the year, but finding recordings was daunting….. enter the SQUILT listening calendar! This is everything I could have hoped for and more. The variety is wonderful and the videos linked have all been good quality audio and video.
My kiddos loooove SQUILT time each morning (they’re 6, 4, and 2). We use it right about in the middle of our MT, and something about it helps everyone refocus and be ready for what’s next.
I’m sure sometime down the road I’ll do the subscription, but right now it’s more than we need or can even use, so this calendar fits our current needs perfectly!
